Biography
Kathryn Shaw Wallace originally born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, has called Charlotte County home since 2007.
Mrs. Wallace graduated from Barry University, School of Law, in Orlando, Florida, earning her Juris Doctor Degree with honors, in 2007. Since that time, she has focused her practice exclusively in the areas of Criminal and Family Law.
Immediately prior to joining the Wallace Law Firm, Mrs. Wallace was a Staff Attorney for six (6) years serving the County and Circuit Court Judges of Charlotte County. As a staff attorney, Ms. Wallace conducted legal research and advised the Court regarding all areas of the law and all stages of a case including pre-trial motions and issues, trial, and post-conviction or post judgment matters. Ms. Wallace was responsible for drafting memoranda, opinions, orders and reports and advising judges after conducting legal research and reviewing briefs and case files.
Ms. Wallace has also had the benefit of working for the State Attorney's Office of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, where she was responsible for 1000's of criminal cases, including misdemeanors and felony offenses. During her time at the State Attorney’s Office, Ms. Wallace focused on prosecution of economic crimes, DUI Manslaughter cases, and those cases involving the mentally ill. Ms. Wallace was assigned to both the Drug Court and Mental Health Court dockets during her tenure at the State Attorney’s Office. She has previously participated as a speaker in the training of law enforcement officers to help guide their interactions with the mentally ill as part of the Crisis Intervention Team.
As a Rotarian, Ms. Wallace wholeheartedly believes that service to others is the most important demonstration of character. She currently serves as board member for the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies and a Campaign Cabinet member and Ambassador for the United Way of Charlotte County. She assists in the Teen Court and High School Mock Trial programs in Charlotte County. She is actively involved in the Charlotte Harbor Sunset Rotary Club and volunteers for the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County.
Mrs. Wallace is married to her law partner and partner in life, Dennis Wallace. In her spare time, she enjoys attending sporting events, as an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
